Founded in 2000 and the first university in Taiwan to sign the Talloires Declaration, National University of Kaohsiung is a green international community. NUK has established sister-school relationships with universities from Asia, America, Africa, and Europe and is currently expanding its partnerships with leading academic and research institutes around the world.
Responsible for international academic and student exchanges, the Division of International Affairs at NUK is organized with three branches: Academic Exchanges, Students Exchanges, and Overseas Chinese and International Students Affairs. The Academic Exchanges branch is responsible for establishing collaborations with sister universities and receiving visiting scholars and delegates. The Students Exchanges branch takes charge of international exchange students programs and related curriculum activities. The Overseas Chinese and International Students Affairs branch facilitates international students admission, scholarship, and administration.
