加拿大University of Victoria辦理summer business program,歡迎有興趣的同學參加!

We currently offer two programs during the summer; the International Summer Institute for Business Management (ISIBM) for undergraduate students and the Summer Graduate Business Studies (SGBS) for master’s students.  The programs started in 1991 and combine high-level academics with a social/cultural activities. Students stay on-campus with classmates from a wide variety of cultural and academic backgrounds.

Here are some key highlights:

ü  ISIBM runs twice each summer, once in July for 4 weeks and once in August for 3 weeks (the programs are exactly the same but August is condensed to 3 weeks)

ü  SGBS runs from mid June to mid July but the modules can be taken individually (8-9 days per module)

ü  Students can earn between 2.5 to 7.5 North American credits

ü  Programs combine social/cultural activities along with high level academic classes

New for 2023- Students will take part in some indigenous focused activities. We have also added a new “Canada Day Experience” package to the July program

International Summer Institute for Business Management - The ISIBM program is a 3 or 4 week intensive summer program that provides students with a fundamental understanding of the business skills and tools needed to succeed in today’s global marketplace. Program fees include on-campus housing, tuition, materials, activity program and meal card.

“Canada Day Experience”

June 30 - July 4, 2023 – ISIBM participants can add four extra days of on-campus accommodation, airport pick-up and meal card to their enrolment. Students can take part in the Canada Day festivities on July 1st.

Program content:

Module 1: Business Communications

Student's capabilities in written communication, oral presentation and non-verbal communication are developed and enhanced within a business and management context. Report and technical writing, presentation preparation, public speaking, business etiquette, negotiation skills, time management and inter-personal communication skills are among the topics emphasized. The ISIBM integrates business communications with service management and students will make presentations on the core business challenges discussed in service management.

Module 2: Business Management

There are three components in this module to help students develop a fundamental understanding of today’s global marketplace through the three steps of business growth:

  1. Entrepreneurship
  2. Service Management
  3. International Business

Summer Graduate Business Studies- This program is designed exclusively for graduate students and combines an intense academic program with course related fieldtrips and activities. Students can register for the full program (3 modules) or each module individually. Program fees include on-campus housing, tuition, materials, activity program, fieldtrips and a meal card.

Program Content for the SGBS program

  • Cross-Cultural Management - Understand the complexity and dynamics of doing business across national borders.
  • Global Strategy – Develop an understanding of doing business in a global environment.
  • Social Entrepreneurship - Following a two-day on-campus introduction, students will make field visits to a variety of social enterprises in the Victoria area, and wrap up with a team-based project that requires students to apply what they have learned through the analysis of a social enterprise case.
